History
101.9 The Twister is KTST, a country station in Oklahoma City now owned by iHeartMedia. It went on the air in 1962 as KFNB and then went through several call signs and formats; in the late 1980s it was an oldies station, called “K-Lite 102” and later “Kool 102”. At the end of 1993 Entercom put the station up for sale and Newmarket Communications, which already owned the country station KXXY, bought it: at Christmas that year 101.9 The Twister was born, and on 11 March 1994 the call sign became KTST. In 2022 it moved, together with its sister stations, to new studios in the northwest of the city.
