History
99.9 Kiss Country is WKSF, licensed to Old Fort, North Carolina, and serving Asheville from a tower on Mount Pisgah; it belongs to iHeartMedia. Its origins are old: it began as WLOS-FM, on 11 August 1947, at 104.3 MHz and with six hours of broadcasting a day, alongside WLOS on AM. It changed call signs several times; in the mid-1980s it was 99.9 KISS-FM, with a Top 40/rock format, and since the early 1990s it has been a country station.
