A CKYL, de Peace River, no Alberta, começou a emitir em 1954 nos 630 kHz, como estação independente, e mais tarde passou para os 610 kHz. A potência de dia subiu para 10 000 watts em 1965 e a de noite em 1968. Dedicou-se à música country sob a marca YL Country até Outubro de 2018, quando passou a chamar-se River Country, e hoje emite também em FM (94.9 MHz). Pertence à Peace River Broadcasting.
