History
France Culture was created in 1963, at the end of that year, shortly before the inauguration of the Maison de la Radio, on 14 December, when the networks of the Radio-Télévision Française changed their names; it debuted with a series on Proust. Before that it was called RTF Promotion and, before that, France III and Programme National. Since January 1975, when Radio France was created, it has been one of its four major stations.
