History
RFI, Radio France Internationale, has existed in its current form since January 1975, when it was created within Radio France; its roots are older and run through the Poste Colonial, from 1931, and stations such as Radio Paris. In 1986 an amendment to the law allowed it to operate independently of Radio France, and today it is part of the France Médias Monde group. Africa is its largest audience: in 2020 it had 58.1 million listeners, 29.8 million of them in French-speaking Africa.
