About
History
Groove Salad is one of the channels of SomaFM, the independent San Francisco radio station that ran its first tests in 1999 and was officially launched in February 2000. It was the network's second channel, after Drone Zone and before Secret Agent. The music programming is by Rusty Hodge, founder of SomaFM, who had been experimenting with Internet radio since 1995. The name SomaFM comes from SoMa, the San Francisco club district from which they began broadcasting.
